Bipartisan Opposition to Mark Keogh’s Amendment 11 to HB4

Yesterday, Representatives Rafael Anchía, Chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, and Byron Cook, Chair of the State Affairs Committee, joined a bipartisan coalition in the Texas House of Representatives to oppose an Amendment by Rep. Mark J Keogh to House Bill 4. Reps Anchía and Cook decried the attempt by Keogh to turn an important piece of legislation and public policy into another way to unnecessarily attack undocumented Texans. After bipartisan denunciation, Representative Keogh withdrew his amendment.
